Rail master plan is underway. It will be finished by the end of March 2008.

According to the state budget proposal by the government the planning will continue through 2008 and the construction of Ring Rail Line will begin in the year 2009.
  
The target year for opening Ring Rail Line is 2013. The possibility to begin service from Vantaankoski to Kivistö one year earlier will be considered later.
